baguettes

This was my first attempt at making baguettes. The recipe is from King Arthur Flour's online baking class: Breads From The Hearth: Baguettes and Ciabatta with Sue Gray & P.J. Hamel. I made the ciabatta several weeks earlier with mixed success (I did it using my bread machine's dough cycle; I really think you need a stand mixer to do it well though -- and I don't have one). Being my first attempt, they are rather wonky and not straight, BUT... they were yummy. I was really pleased with the results.

acme's herb slabs (sans herb)

This is the first bread I made from Maggie Glezer's Artisan Baking. It's basically a version of focaccia. The original recipe calls for rosemary, but I had to omit that to please finickier palates. It was still yummy though!
